The New Media Academy (NMA) in the UAE is a government backed digital media and content creation training institution based in Dubai. It was launched in June 2020 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. It acts as a training and development hub for social media, digital storytelling, and online communication. The academy is designed to strengthen the UAE’s presence in digital and social media, train Emirati and Arab content creators, improve government and private sector digital communication and to support the “creator economy” in the region.
