No Objection Certificates

When the parent / parents are living aboard, they can provide a consent letter to issue a separate passport for their child/ children in Sri Lanka.

The parent/guardian in Sri Lanka should submit the signed consent letter directly to the Department of Immigration and Emigration.

  1. Duly Filled Application
    • If one parent is living in the UAE [Download application here]
    • If the both parents are living in the UAE  [Download application here]
  2. Original Passport of the parent/parents with a copy of data page (page no. 2 and 3) – Passport copies alone will not be accepted

NOTE :

  • The consent letter/NOC should be signed Infront of the Consular Officer at the Consulate General.
  • The No Objection Certificate is usually valid for one month from the date of signing. Therefore, ensure that the certificate is signed within one month prior to the scheduled passport appointment date.

You can submit the application to the Consular Division of the Consulate General by hand. The Consular Division is open from Monday to Friday (8.30 am to 1.00 pm).

FOR SIGNING THE CONSENT LETTER, THE OWNER OF THE PASSPORT SHOULD PHYSICALLY BE PRESENT AT THE CONSULATE GENERAL OF SRI LANKA IN DUBAI.
