World Bank has decided to increase the amount of funds granted for controlling the Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) in Sri Lanka.
This was revealed during a meeting recently held between a World Bank delegation led by Country Director Ms. Idah z Pswarayi and the Minister of Health Dr. Rajitha Senarathne at the Health Ministry.
Currently, the WB has granted USD 200 Million to Sri Lanka for the above purpose for a period of five years. The WB representatives assured minister Senarathne that they would increase this amount upto USD 1.9 Billion
