Prime Minister’s Milad-un-Nabi message

/, Sri Lanka/Prime Minister’s Milad-un-Nabi message

Prophet Mohamed, recognized as the last Prophet of Islam, practiced a religious path of peace and encouraged his adherents to do the same.

Followers of Islam believe that until he was called to serve God at the age of 40, he lived a life of piety and dignity.

He brought peace and unity to Medina, torn apart by tribal warfare and dissention, encouraging his people to pursue peace and fellowship, engaging in a path of giving and selfless commitment towards others.

The celebration of the Holy Prophet’s Birthday is therefore an occasion to recall the spirit of peace and harmony with which The Prophet preached for 23 years; today, it inspires Muslims and others towards living the kind of lives that honour Islam’s principles of communion and love towards fellow mankind.

Let me take this occasion to wish all Muslims a peace filled Milad-un-Nabi.
