The process of reducing the price of 47 drug items commenced yesterday after 43 years and more reductions are expected in the future.
According to the Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senarathne, those 47 items are included the drugs used for diabetes, heart disease, and other related diseases. Chairman of the National Drug Regulation Authority implemented the process considering the way, which it was implemented in India. “After one and a half months the price of expensive drugs will be reduced and thereby others also”, he added.
Minister stated this yesterday (Sept.23rd) at the Senaka Bibile memorial ceremony held at the Sri Lanka Foundation, Colombo.
