The President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena has promoted the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Crisanthe De Silva to the rank of General with effect from 27 June 2017.
