Health Minister Rajitha Senarathne assured that there was no shortage of Thriposha production, given to infants and pregnant mothers over six months.

The production of Thriposha at the Kandana factory was low during the past few months as new machinery is being installed and production is being done with old machinery.

President Maithripala Sirisena as the then Minister of Health had decided to repair the Thriposha factory in Kandana and it was commenced by the present Health Minister in 2015. Accordingly, the imported modern equipment from USA worth Rs.700 million is being fixed since July this year.

Once the new machines are completely fixed by the first week of October the full scale production process will be restarted.

In addition, two storehouses under Sailo method will be established spending Rs.200 million.
