Following is the full text of the message:
The veteran film, stage and drama actor Vijaya Nanadasiri who re-enacted the personality of the Prince Maname throughout 25 years on stage, took leave of his life role at an unexpected moment.
Mr. Vijaya Nanadasiri who glorified the great dramas of Sri Lanka including Maname, Sinhabahu, Mahasara and Rathnavali of Prof. Ediriweera Sarachchandra, Nari Bena, Jasaya and Lenchina of Dayananda Gunawardena later made an invaluable contribution to nurture the Sri Lankan Cinema and Tele-dramas with his outstanding talent for acting.
In the recent history, his skilled rhythm of acting was demonstrated as a comedian in theatre and Tele-drama. The television and the theatre created a stage for him to achieve mass popularity as a great actor.
Vijaya Nandasiri has now left the theatre, ending the gigantic role played in his field, demonstrating the truth of impermanency of Sansara. But his talented rhythm of acting will stay for a long time in the minds of audience by the way he portrayed the walk of Prince Maname.
I extend my deepest sympathy to the wife of Vijaya Nandasiri Mrs. Devika Mihirani and his two children. May he attain Nibbana!
