Hon. A. G. Sunil Kumara Gamage, Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs of Sri Lanka met with His Excellency Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports of the United Arab Emirates on Thursday, 5 February 2026 on the sidelines of the World Government Summit in Dubai and discussed on signing a MOU with the UAE to enhance corporation in sports, inter alia, matters related to strengthening bilateral cooperation on sports. Hon. A. G. Sunil Kumara Gamage was accompanied by H. E. Dr. Arusha Cooray, Ambassador of Sri Lanka, Hon. Alexi Gunasekera, Consul General of Sri Lanka to Dubai and Northern Emirates and Mr. Dilum Dayarathna, Director (Development) from the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs of Sri Lanka. The UAE side comprised with His Excellency Ghanem Mubarak Al Hajeri – Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports, Sheikh Suhail bin Butti Al Maktoum – Assistant Undersecretary for the Sports Development and Competitiveness Sector and Mr. Saeed Bedoor Obaid Al Bedoor Al Falasi – Administrative Services Expert.
