Pharmaceutical Companies will not be allowed to revise the C.I.F prices once the Gazette on reduced prices of medicine is issued.
Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senarathne addressing the ministry officials said that the National Drug Regulation Authority had agreed to issue the Gazette notification by August 31.
Accordingly, the minister expects to reduce the medicine prices up to 85per cent and several expensive medicines up to 10 per cent. Sri Lanka imports nearly 4,000 drug productions.
He further added that if the pharmaceutical companies intend to revise the C.I.F. price, they should reveal the reasons for that. "Public will see the benefit of reducing medicine prices by September."
