National Unity government formed by two major political parties has the potential to work in harmony with other political parties and this is a great achievement of the government, said the former Indian PM Dr. Manmohan Singh.
Meeting with Sri Lankan Prime Minster Ranil Wickremesinghe on 5th October in New Delhi together with Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, he further added that it was a pleasure for them that Prime Minster Wickremesinghe is rejoining Sri Lanka’s economic development process.
Mrs. Sonia Gandhi discussed with Sri Lankan Premier regarding the new development progress in Sri Lanka, and regional relations, while former Indian Trade and Industry Minister Anand Sharma discussed the proposed ECTA agreement.
Both parties focused attention on the PM Wickremesinghe’s South Indian and Sri Lankan sub economic region concept.
Sri Lankan Premier extended an invitation to a delegation from the Congress party to visit Sri Lanka.
