President Maithripala Sirisena arrived at Swarnabhumi International Airport Bangkok today (October 7) to participate at the second Asian Cooperation Dialogue. President Sirisena was welcomed by Cultural Minister of Thailand Vira Rojpojchanarat and a team of officials.
The Sri Lankan Ambassador to Thailand and officials had arranged a welcome ceremony at the hotel the President is staying.
The Asian Cooperation Dialogue discusses common issues and problems relating to the Asian Region and it will be held with the participation of 34 countries from October 8-10 in Bangkok.
They will deliberate on 20 sectors including science and technology, food security, energy and water, culture and tourism and President Sirisena is scheduled to address the summit on the 9th of October. President Sirisena is scheduled to meet the Prime Minister of Thailand Prayuth Chan-o-Cha and hold bilateral discussions.
