The first-ever post-pandemic Sri Lanka Investor Forum organized by the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in collaboration with the Embassy of Sri Lanka in UAE and the Consulate General of Sri Lanka to Dubai and the Northern Emirates was successfully concluded on the 05th November 2021 in Dubai. The main objective of the forum was to promote foreign funds to the capital market of Sri Lanka. The event was attended by Dubai-based Sri Lankans across multiple industries. It also marked the resumption of overseas roadshows successfully carried out prior to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, attracting global portfolio investors to Sri Lankan listed equities and debt. Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal was the keynote speaker at the first-ever post-pandemic Sri Lanka Investor Forum held at the Sheraton Grand Hotel Dubai which drew over 180 participants.

The United States expressed its support to develop Sri Lanka as a regional hub for trade and investment in Asia, which would connect trade flows among ASEAN, India, the Middle East, and Africa through free and open seas that would be the key to growth of the region, says the joint statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka and the U.S. Department of State on the Sri Lanka-United States Partnership Dialogue held at Colombo yesterday (6th Nov.).
