Eleven Sri Lankan exporters in the food & beverage sector participated in the Sri Lankan pavilion at ‘Gulfood 2021’, which was held from 21 – 25 February 2021 in Dubai World Trade Centre in Dubai, UAE.
Since its inception in 1987, this year ’Gulfood’ celebrated its 26th edition of the exhibition in 2021. This international exhibition is considered as the world’s largest annual food, beverage and hospitality exhibition which attracts F&B professionals and leading companies. Business was thriving across the “Gulfood 2021” show floor as exhibitors from 85 countries met up with buyers and attendees from 156 countries to kick-start 2021 in a specially arranged safe face-to-face business space. Sri Lanka Tea Board and Sri Lanka Export Development Board organized two Sri Lanka pavilions in the exhibition with the participation of the eleven exporting companies while major exporters organized their individual pavilions separately with an aim to promote their products in the global market.
The Sri Lankan companies participated in Gulfood 2021 covered a range of products including food preparations, beverages, spices and wellness products among others. The highlight of the profile of Sri Lankan participation was the participation of a number companies in the organic product sector.
The Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Dubai & Northern Emirates facilitated Sri Lanka’s participation at the Gulfood 2020 in collaboration with Sri Lanka Export Development Board and Sri Lanka Tea Board. The organization of Sri Lanka participation at Gulfood pave the way to Sri Lankan companies to establish new business contacts and consolidate existing business contacts.
