Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe who went on an inspection tour of the Kosgama area in the aftermath of the Salawa Army Camp armory fire, instructed the relevant officials to take speedy measures to facilitate the affected people.
The Prime Minister instructed officials to take prompt action to bring the situation to normalcy. He talked to the affected people after visiting and inspecting many places including Sri Wardanarama Viharaya Boralugoda, Kosgama Hospital, Salawa village and Kosgama town area. The Prime Minister drew his attention to facilitating the victims when he met people at the Sri Wardanarama Viharaya.
He also visited the Muruthagama Community Hall, where a group of affected people are housed. Prime Minister Wickremesinghe took several decisions on certain issues with regard to facilitating the people, when he was informed of their problems. After visiting the Kosgama Hospital, which was destroyed by the blast, the Prime Minister instructed state officials to promptly renovate the hospital.
He also visited several business premises at the bazar near the Salawa Army camp which were badly damaged in the aftermath of the armoury fire. Addressing the people, the Prime Minister said that the Government will take all possible measures to facilitate the affected people and assist them lead a normal life. “No one will be left behind and everyone will be treated equally,” the Prime Minister added. He told the owners of the damaged houses and properties situated near the Salawa Army Camp that there will be no politics when bringing relief and facilitating victims. (CDN)
