National Policy on Tobacco and Alcohol to be launched today (4rd Aug.) parallel to the National Conference on Tobacco and Alcohol -2016 to be held at BMICH under the patronage of the President Maithripala Sirisena.
The Conference titled “Drug Free Country” is organized by the Mental Health Unit of the Ministry of Health together with the National Authority on Tobacco and Alcohol.
Minister of Health, Nutrition, and Indigenous Medicine Rajitha Senarathne, and foreign and local representatives will participate.
According to the Chairman of the National Authority on Tobacco and Alcohol Dr.Palitha Abeykoon, it the first time Sri Lanka adopted a national policy on Tobacco and Alcohol.
