ATTESTATION OF AFFIDAVITS (NON RELATIONSHIP CERTIFICATE)

Any Sri Lankan citizen abroad could declare or sign affidavits at the Sri Lankan Mission/Post of that country, in the presence of an authorized officer, under the Consular Functions Act.

  • To attest an affidavit, it is required that the applicant to type the affidavit as a self-declaration. Please note that we do not draft affidavits for you.

For non-relative certificates/affidavits followings are to be submitted.

  1. The affidavit (Sample Non-relationship Affidavit format)
  2. The applicant, together with the domestic aide should be presented at the Consulate General to attest the document (If the domestic aide is in Sri Lanka, a letter confirming the current residence is to be submitted by the Grama Niladhari with the counter signature by respective Divisional Secretariat in Sri Lanka)
  3. The original passport of the applicant with a copy of the biodata page of the passport
  4. A copy of the biodata page of the spouse’s passport
  5. copy of the biodata page of the domestic aide’s passport
  6. Copies of Emirates IDs (both sides of IDs) of applicant and the spouse
  7. Letter from the domestic aide giving consent to work under the referred sponsor

Please note that in the event of relevant official documents not being produced to substantiate the facts contained in an Affidavit, it will not be considered for attestation.

Note that now you can do the payments in Cash or Credit/Debit Cards. (An administrative fee will be charged by the bank)

Within 30 Minutes

You can submit the application to the consular division of the Consulate General by hand. The Consular Division is open from Monday to Friday (8.30 am to 1.00 pm), except declared holidays.

ATTESTATION OF AFFIDAVITS (ALL OTHER TYPES OF AFFIDAVITS & UNMARRIED CERTIFICATES)

  • To attest an affidavit, it is required that the applicant to type the affidavit as a self-declaration. Please note that we do not draft affidavits for you.
  1. The affidavit with a copy (Sample General Affidavit format)
  2. Original passport of the applicant with a copy of it
  3. If the Passport is not available, please bring the Original Sri Lankan Identity Card or Sri Lankan Driving Licence with a copy of the Passport to ascertain the identity in the presence of the Consular Officer

Please note that the declarant of the affidavit shall place the signature before the Consular Officer.

Certificate for Confirmation of the Unmarried Status 

An affidavit for unmarried status can be presented only by the prospective applicant who intends to get married, his/her parents. It is essential to indicate the passport number of the prospective applicant in the affidavit (Unmarried certificates for foreign nationals are not accepted for attestation).
